My expertise lies in the field of criminal justice, community safety and health, which means that I can support organisations in this area of work particularly well. I work with local, regional and national organisations in the public, third and private sector, supporting both one off projects and long-term collaborations.
One of the first questions clients ask is how much it would cost and how it would all work. The short answer is, ‘it depends’ and ‘as fixed or flexible as you like.’ I approach my relationship with clients with trust and the aspiration to ensure that whatever we agree works for both sides.
Depending on your circumstances and requirements, I can be an additional member of your in-house communications team for a specific project or initiative, support a sudden one-off need, or take the lead on all your communications requirements under a flexible arrangement.
If you are looking for support for just one specific project with one specific deliverable, such as a report, press release, or copy for a website, then project based costing is often the best way forward. Based on the agreed scope, I will provide you with a fixed quote; invoicing takes place at the start of the project with 50% payable before the project commences and the remainder upon completion.
We agree to work together for a set period of time for a set number of days a month. Time not used in one month can be rolled over to the next or time can be brought forward to allow for fluctuation in demand. The work to be undertaken can remain flexible and be adapted as we progress. Invoicing takes place at the end of the month for a fixed amount.
This is the most flexible option based on an agreed day rate. With a rough road map in mind, we agree each month what work is going to be completed and how much time this is likely to take. Invoicing takes place at the end of the month based on the actual hours/days worked.
